WhizzBee Family 2.0 System Requirements

Hardware requirements

  • Two or more Intel x86-based PCs to form a cluster
  • At least 64MB physical memory per PC; 128MB or above recommended
  • Network card installed on each server node
  • About 10MB free disk space for the WhizzBee package

Software requirements

  • RedHat Linux 7.1 or 7.2 installed on each cluster node of the cluster
  • RPM (RPM Package Manager) utilities installed on each server node
  • Perl 5.0 installed at location /usr/bin/perl of the Management Console

Network requirements

  • An Ethernet network running preferably at 100Mb/s or above
  • A static IP address for each PC including the Management Console
  • An extra static cluster virtual IP address (VIP) that binds to the hostname of the website
  • All cluster nodes, including the Management Console, are assumed to be on the same IP subnet, and connect to the same physical network using the eth0 network interface

Storage space requirements

  • Depending on the total size of your web contents, files may be stored in a centralized NFS server, or replicated at all web server nodes; in the latter case, sufficient storage space must be available at each node (only applicable to WhizzBee Web Server)
