Performance
We
have carried out a series of benchmark tests to gauge the performance
of WhizzBee
Web Server 2.0. The results were compared to those
of Linux
Virtual Server (LVS) 0.2.7 and Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS) on Microsoft
Windows 2000 Advanced Server. We used WebBench
4.1 for the tests.
The
results we obtained showed that WhizzBee achieves better scalability
and performance than IIS and LVS in all except one case (2 server
node, compared with LVS) where the performance gain is not enough
to offset the overhead due to cooperative caching. But the performance
gains with more nodes were tremendous: for an 8-server-node
cluster, WhizzBee outperforms IIS by as much as 506%, and outperforms
LVS by 182%. Details of the experiments and results can be found
in WhizzBee
Web Server 2.0 Technical Overview. The following
are copied verbatim from that document.
